Monster Beverage Corporation

Monster Beverage Corporation is a world-renowned manufacturer and distributor of energy drinks and alternative beverages. In 2012, H. Hendy Associates was commissioned to design a unique office space that reflects Monster´s culture, brand, action sports lifestyle and long-term business objectives at the company´s headquarters located in Corona, CA. The new six-story building features 500 workstations and 175 private offices, a creative "test lab" for employees and athletes to sample new beverage products, VIP areas, conference room seating on each floor and a hip look that reinforces the brand.

Mr. Shumaker, Senior Interior Designer for H. Hendy Associates was interviewed to find out why Luminis was chosen to illuminate the interior of this visually engaging space.  

"Since Monster Beverage Corporation owns the building our first criteria was to place the latest LED technology within. " Shumaker says "Also, considering the space was designed to have black exposed ceilings and concrete floors throughout we needed a product that not only met our design criteria but it had to efficiently light a space much darker than a conventional office space with lay in acoustical ceilings."

The Luminis Prisma LED, 16" ceiling pendant luminaire with clear prismatic acrylic diffuser fit the bill perfectly. "We needed to find an industrial/high-bay style LED fixture that had both downward general lighting as well as something that projected light towards the dark ceiling." Shumaker says, "Furthermore, the fixture had to have a design aesthetic different from the suspended linear indirect/direct fixture used for the general open office lighting and that acted as secondary main pathway lighting and way finding at the building core."

The Prisma was the perfect choice for this application. It delivers the high power expected from an LED solution while effectively capturing the Monster culture.
